Credit Diploma Program (CDP)

The Credit Diploma program is equivalent to a diploma awarded by any other Connecticut Public High School. A minimum of 25 credits in academic and elective areas are required to obtain your diploma. Credit for work or military experience, independent study projects, and online courses can also be awarded. 

The following is a breakdown of the credits requirements. 

  • 4 Credits- English
  • 4 Credits- Math 
  • 3 Credits- Social Studies
  • 2 Credits-Science
  • 11 Credits- Electives

Before you register for CDP classes, you will take a pre-test that will determine your educational needs.  Consideration of class placement will be made based on the number of high school credits you have earned.  If have fewer than 11 high school credits, you may be placed in ABE (Adult Basic Education) which is a program that will help you develop your basic reading, writing, math, and technology skills in preparation foralternative high school options including CDP and GED programs. All incoming 17 and 18-year-old students need a withdrawal form to enroll in adult education.

Mondays and Thursdays- Virtual (Google Classroom)

Tuesdays and Wednesdays- In person- Manchester High School, Freshman Center

  • Trimester 1: 9/3/24 - 11/25/24
  • Trimester 2: 12/9/24 - 3/1/25
  • Trimester 3: 3/17/25 - 6/11/25

We are also partnered with  Apex Edmentum to help students earn more credits towards high school completion. Please speak with your counselor for more information and to enroll in these classes.
